Virgin cypress is prized because of the beautiful colors only found in old growth cypress, making it the perfect choice for paneling and furniture. Some craftsmen prefer the look of knotty cypress while others like the smoother look of vertical grain or plain sawn.
Like any other wood, old growth virgin cypress can be rough sawn, planed or gang ripped. Because this old growth heart wood is more durable it is suitable for outdoor surfaces such as porches, decking, handrails, siding, canoes and even outdoor furniture.
Interior uses include paneling, flooring, crown molding, baseboards, doors, staircases, and stair railings. Builders use accents of dead head cypress for decorative moldings, beams and joists, or can use it for an entire room or even the entire house or building.
We supply furniture builders and woodworkers with cypress wood and mill cypress into any type of architectural moldings, doors, window and door trim, or any other wood product that can be milled.

LEEDS POINTS ~ GREEN BUILDING
Because sinker cypress wood is reclaimed it is considered ecofriendly and eligible for LEEDS Points. LEED is The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. Visit the official U.S. Green Building Council site for more details.

This is just what i needed, i didn’t realise that there was someone collecting all of this and stockpiling it. It’ll mean that when i am eventually in a financial position to start building the house i’ll have somewhere i can go to get the wood for a low price.
Sinker cypress is one of the most expensive wood species available and we do have excellent prices on it. There are many other wood variaties to choose from in a wide range of prices.

Hmm, it’s quite versatile isn’t it? I’ve never heard of this wood before but it seems to have plenty of uses. I prefer wood that looks authentic to the plastic stuff you can get nowadays for anything in my house. Thanks for posting, I’ll have a closer look later.
I just moved into a new home and my wife had the staircase made in sinker cypress. It looks and feels absolutely fantastic, people keep asking what wood it is and where we got it. It does cost a little more but it is totally worth it.
Good to know. This is really a very nice blog, surely usefull for our club members. I will let them know.

this is really ample amount of stock for the people, it really gives a nice look.
My new next door neighbour has a coffee table that was made for him out of the cypress wood and it is beautiful. It has some incredible colours in it that you wouldn’t usually see in a regular table, and it’s smooth. I couldn’t stop looking at it. It was very expensive but I would definitely pay the money for it.
