I wonder what his buyers are paying for an interest rate since this is a private sale without the bank. Maybe 1 0r 2% higher. 7 or 8 % isn’t a bad return in this market.

Money for mortgages is apparently still being withheld. I know someone who has four buyers for a 6,000 home and not one of them can get approved even though they have substantial down payments.

I wonder if any of the buyers have tried either local banks or major mortgage brokers. Even if the multi-national Corporate banks are not willing to loan money there may be other options.

I think about this all of the time. There are a few foreclosed homes in our area that are a few hundred thousand dollars below market value. As soon as I find a good contractor, I might just start buying some properties.
