Good Millwork: Flex Trim, originally uploaded by Good Millwork.

As a manufacturer of architectural wood trim and moldings, one of the more difficult challenges is how to handle radius molding and radius trim – especially when matching historic and existing moulding profiles. The art of producing radius crown moldings, curved baseboards and arched door and window trim is TIME consuming and costly.

With 10,000 plus profiles in our molding database and over 20 years of experience, we’ve seen over 80% of our customers moving to synthetics, i.e.; flex trim, bendable trim, flexible wood trim, architectural flexible molding, flexible moldings. There are many more names but the bottom line is it’s cost effective, can match the exact profile of its wood compliment and can accommodate virtually any radius.

Specialty applications include; half round windows, elliptical windows, arches and arcs, bowed windows, radius drywall corners, round columns and trim ceiling domes. Our flexible trim is manufactured from cured polyurethane that is 100% solid and contains ZERO VOCs (let us know if you need LEED docs). It can be cut with a saw, caulked, and painted with water-based paints. And for the “wood effect”, the use of water based stain such as Minwax works well. Simply apply with brush or rag and wipe off.

How do you get started? Choose your profile online (note your request with “flex”, send us a fax with your requirements or simply give us a call at (888) 209-9307.

[shameless plug: architectural wood trim? thousand of choices...online.]
