Our fanatical approach to mouldings sometimes gets in the way of our wood shutter team. For over 20 years, we’ve manufactured exterior wooden shutters for coastal applications (rot, hurricane, shade, etc.).
Manufactured in Florida, each shutter is built to order from decay resistant, kiln dried lumber… genuine mahogany, Spanish cedar and fire rated southern yellow pine (yep, we tested it…Class A fire rating, 40 year rot and insect warranty). Bahama, Bermuda, historical, colonial, board and batten, raised panel…there are no limits.
With the new homeowner insurance requirements set forth by Citizen Insurance in Florida, we’ve even added Atlantic Shutters to our team offering both wood and synthetic exterior shutters. Hurricane protection? Hurricane shutters? Already have wood window shutters? We can retrofit your existing wood shutters to comply with Citizens windstorm requirements…no need to throw the old ones away!

I have really grown to love shutters. I think they look great, much more interesting than blinds or curtains. And more protective in case of a hurricane etc.
Both wood and synthetic exterior shutters can really add a value to your house. For some reason I prefer wood shutters but I guess you need to have a somewhat old-school house in order to make those fit.

Definitely have to agree with you and we should join forces to further influence the property appraisers of the world. Regarding the fit of the shutters, we manufacture all shutters to order and provide shop drawings for approval prior to putting the order onto the plant floor.
As you can see from the photographs, we can handle just about any style that’s thrown at us and we’ve even started manufacturing the panels out of TimberSIL given us the ability to offer a 40 year rot warranty along with a Class A Fire Rating on our shutter products.
