We’re always up to a challenge when taking on a “new and improved” wood product. Our slightly skewed, twisted mindset is to throw the marketing lit in the can and start slicing and dicing (we’re old school and the new stuff just doesn’t cut it).
The TimberSIL intro took place while making the first cobia run of the season……fire rated wood (Class A), 40 year rot warranty, 40 year insect warranty, transferable and its GREEN. In the same fashion as Myth Busters, we sliced, diced, sanded, glued, etc….end result? Fire rated wood siding, fire rated shake shingles, fire rated wood shutters, fire rated wood crown and none of the products have a strange color.
TimberSIL is great to work with and we loved the results. We are already producing siding, shingles, moulding, and shutters. Take a look, let us know your thoughts and give us a call for samples at (888) 209-9307…we’re going back to the floor to play some more.

I like your initiative in checking out new wood products, especially in honor of Myth Busters, which is always fun to watch. Seems like it would be a good product with a 40 year rot warranty
Great post!
Yes! Nice fire test video
Thanks for the ‘two thumbs up’ on the fire video. We can’t claim the production of the video, but we can claim the manufacturing of the fire rated siding.
Its amazing what we take for granted in wood products until someone comes along and says not only can you have a Class A fire rating, but you can also have a 40 year rot warranty, a 40 year bug warranty and by the way we’ve got a letter from the EPA stating that this product, TimberSIL, is a non-toxic barrier to insect infestation…pretty cool!
We put together a complete post on the TimberSIL product…enjoy!
Best.
great video and work!
David,
We can’t take credit for the video. However, we can take credit for making really cool stuff out of TimberSIL (siding, shutters, handrail, whiskey barrels, etc.)
Let us know if you need any information on the TimberSIL material or samples.
Thanks again for the compliment.
That really is impressive. I can’t believe the difference between the two woods. I know which one I’d go with.
nice video and nice work,

The very best way to know how well anything works is to test it out yourself. No doubt it would have had a fun element in the testing but it also give us peace of mind when buying it. It’s good to know what can and can’t be done with anything before you make it a major purchase for the home. Thanks for the information.
