I am doing a big renovation in my house. I have plaster mouldings around my room were the ceiling joins the walls. I was wondering what would be the best way to get that moulding off

Penny,

Quick fix for when walls go bad it to select a crown molding with a complimentary scribe that can be used to conceal the less than perfect surface. Pick a couple of crown profiles and we'll make a recommendation on a piece of trim to be used.

Best, Bill.

PS - we'll also produce a drawing (CAD file) for you so you can actually see how the two pieces of moldings work together to form the overall 'crown' effect.

We are considering crown molding in a couple of rooms in our home but with this home being built in the sixty our walls are not even. Is it still possible to do crown molding that is pleasant to the eye? Appreciate your time in responding. Penny.

Michael,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We'd suggest you pick up the Crown Molding & Trim Installation Kit by Wayne Drake of www.compoundmiter.com.

Mr. Drake has opened our eyes on the "How to" of cutting complex angles and has broken the science down to simple steps.

Best.
